Water resources system planning, operation and maintenance require different sources of information including meteorology, hydrology, geology, limnology and computer programming and management strategies. It is the main purpose of this book to prepare the reader to linguistic, qualitative data interpretation and treatment procedures on the basis of fuzzy logic principles. The reader should keep in his mind that always any data related to natural events such as the water related phenomena they include vagueness, imprecision, incompleteness, missing which are collectively referred to as ‘fuzzy’ information. The fuzzy sets, systems, models, reasoning, inference is explained in this book at times with simple examples. One can base his basic fuzzy information on the topics covered in this book and later effectively in any of his researches.
